Maslow’s theory of the hierarchy needs suggests that human beings cannot reach level self-actualization in event their basic are not properly fulfilled, i.e., physiological and related to security. This study is an effort test against living standard instructors Haramaya University (the researchers explore where academic staff leveled). A qualitative approach was employed make empirical investigation conditions this particular university its implication on imparting quality education. To do so, attempted from a phenomenographic viewpoint by identifying four themes conceptions standards staff. These include (1) salary, (2) housing, (3) job security, (4) self-esteem. The findings revealed that, among other things, poor higher education staff, rising cost, inadequate monthly salaries, derisory housing allowances, lack security made it extremely difficult change workplace resulted low morale self-esteem teaching It imagine high-quality without instructors. improve education, must be met; educational inputs profession should more attractive important priority government.
